I’m normally one to sit down and reflect and try to find connections and go ‘deep’ when I write. Maybe it’s the change in seasons as we head into spring, or the seriousness that surrounds us everywhere else in the world, but I thought something a little more lighthearted would be fun. Plus, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy a good meme 😉
Here, I give you the top 10 memes that so perfectly and accurately describe my current season of motherhood!
I try so hard to keep a clean house because clutter makes me crazy. I do it, though, knowing that while I work on one room, there is probably for sure another small mess in the making.
It never fails, and my husband makes fun of me all the time for it. Truth be told though, I will turn the coffee maker on and then forget to even make my coffee, never mind giving it time to get cold!
This one is true not only for me but also for my husband who never seemed to cry prior to fatherhood. Now any movie or show with a storyline including children in danger is grounds for immediate tears and stress, no matter how absurd it seems to be.
Parenting my almost 2 year old is a breeze because the few words he says are adorable and he doesn’t back talk…yet. My almost 4 year old though, is another story. I try very hard to be respectful and listen even when she tries to argue but I think we can all agree we know when the sass is about to spew out of our kiddos and sometimes we just tell them to stop before it can!
Self explanatory. Don’t judge mommas, just throw out the nod of solidarity and a little smile. We’ve all been there; don’t pretend you haven’t.
I try so hard to be on time to things. I’m just not sure what it is about asking your children to get their shoes that makes them decide it’s a great time to poop, spill an entire box of cereal all over the floor, or lick the dog and throw a tantrum because he got mad at you. For the love…
Kids are cute, the things they say are (usually) hilarious, and the things they do are funny to watch…the first time. After the 134,858th “Watch me balance on one foot, mommy!” I start to go a little crazy inside.
The extra towels in the bathroom are within quick reach for a very specific reason, and it’s not because they’ll be needed to wrap up in after a shower… #mykidsthinktheyareShamu
And lastly, the 100% truth to all motherhood struggles –
As much as they drive me crazy and I feel like I’m going to lose it throughout the day, I still feel like my heart is going to explode when I think about how much I love them.
