Spring Bucket List for Phoenix Families

0

It’s the best time of year to be a Phoenician. The weather is amazing and there is so much to do around the valley! We have some great ideas to add to your spring bucket list that the whole family can enjoy.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame: A Phoenix Spring Bucket List would be incomplete without mentioning the great traditions of spring training games. Whether you are a die hard fans and are searching for the perfect game with the perfect view, or just want a fun day out with peanuts and cracker jacks on the oh so kid friendly lawn seats, spring training games are definitely worth a spot on your bucket list. You can get information on games and tickets HERE and we have a whole post for you about Spring Training Dining Deals to round out your day. (If you’d rather not watch a game because you want in on the action, check out the batting cages at Casey’s Sports World!)

Take a Day-trip: One of the best things about Phoenix is that aside from having a city full of activity, we have so many beautiful and unique spaces so close to the city. The day trip possibilities could be their own bucket list, but Bearizona is always a classic, and I have my top three day trip destinations that remain favorites in my family year after year. At least one of these places deserves a spot on your spring bucket list.

Dine Outside: Is there anything better than patio weather season?! Take full advantage of the Phoenix spring and enjoy a great meal or beverage outdoors, whether that be in your own backyard, on a picnic at a local park, or at one of our favorite restaurants that feature patio and rooftop dining

Wildflower hunting: Did you know that aside from the three national parks and our numerous state parks we also have some amazing regional parks? If wildflower hunting is on your spring bucket list, I definitely recommend a trip to one or more of those parks. Spur Cross is our family favorite, but I have heard amazing things about San Tan. If you are looking for something a bit more central, the Phoenix Mountain Preserve is also a great spot to find a variety of wildflowers. Just remember to practice the principles of leave no trace to preserve these gorgeous slices of the wilderness we have in the Phoenix area.

Drive in Movies: I don’t know what it is about the magic of the drive in movies, but my kids think it is the coolest thing. Spring is the perfect time to visit Arizona’s only permanent drive in theater because the sun is setting at more friendly time for our younger family members than it will in the summer, but the weather is still pretty comfortable at night unlike some of our winter weeks. If drive ins are not your thing, maybe you want to add another unique movie theater experience to your spring bucket list.

Make some space: While Spring Cleaning traditionally refers to physical objects in your home, I find this to be the perfect team of year to also clean out some room in my schedule. If you need some inspiration to do this or are curious about how you could manage to quit the things that seem to put extra pressure on your family, I definitely recommend reading this post about white space in your calendar and this post about how making margin can reduce your anxiety!

Let us know if you add any of your suggestions to your spring bucket list! Any other suggestions of what we should add to our list? We’d love to hear them.
