The Pantone Color Institute has chosen MARSALA to be the color of the year for 2015. Think deep, rich, red-brown. For the past 25 year’s Pantone has decided on one color each year to define it. These colors have ranged in brightness and tone with the most recent colors being Radiant Orchard in 2014 and Emerald in 2013. Leatrice, Pantone’s executive director says “Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.”
There are a lot of opinions on this year’s choice from bad to great. Personally, I think this color is easy to incorporate into your existing style. Here are some of my picks for adding marsala into your beauty, fashion, and home style.
Beauty: Lips, Eyes, Cheeks, and Nails
Fashion: Pants, Scarfs, and Shoes
Home Decor: Pillows, Chairs, and Blankets
I hope you find some inspiration here to add some Marsala into your life! Let me know if you try one of these ideas or one of your own in the comments below.
