Track Your Trick-or-Treater
I know there will probably be a day when I let my son go trick-or-treating with his friends… alone… without me. I don’t want to think about that day… ever! This is my third Halloween with him and it just keeps getting better and better. I love following his little costumed self around the neighborhood, encouraging him to knock on doors and then reminding him to say thank you for the candy. But I know one day he will ask me to stay home so he can venture out with his friends. Maybe you are already at that point. Instead of worrying, there’s now a way you can track your child’s every movement on Halloween night. The Track n Treat app for iPhone allows parents to follow their kids for four hours at a time. The Family GPS Tracker, also free but for iPhone and Android, allows parents to see where their children are and alerts them when they go out of a pre-set area.
Black Friday Sales Leaked… Already!
Even though Halloween is still a few days away, many people already have their sights set on Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year. In fact, many sales ads have already been leaked to websites like bestblackfriday.com. On this particular website, you know these ads are “leaked” because in the first paragraph, they talk about how they’ve acquired “a clearer version of the Kmart toy book.” Can you believe that? These are hardcore Black Friday shoppers. If you are one of those, here’s the link.
Start Your Morning with a Tweet (a-Coffee)
Here’s an easy way to make your loved one’s day! Send them a Starbucks with @Tweetacoffee. That’s right… with just 140 characters and your credit card of course, you can send Starbucks coffee tweets any time you want.
Here’s how it works: Go to https://www.starbucks.com/tweet-a-coffee, log on with your Starbucks account, put in your friend’s Twitter handle and send! After that, your friend walks up to the counter, shows the barista his tweet and voila, they get their caffeine fix on you.
Duffin… Duffin… Who’s got the Duffin?
One more Starbucks story…
A few weeks ago, Starbucks UK introduced the duffin in its stores. Never heard of a duffin? Well, it’s a doughnut-muffin combo with a jelly-filled center. At the time of the launch, Starbucks execs were so proud of the idea they trademarked the name “duffin.” Problem is… Starbucks isn’t the only one making duffins. Bea’s of Bloomsbury in London has been selling duffins for a couple of years. They’re fighting back and calling the whole fiasco “Duffingate.” Starbucks say it won’t stop Bea’s from making duffins.
