Despite the record breaking rainfall, here are some other things happening this week…
Apple will make a few big announcements tomorrow. In fact, a mysterious windowless building has popped up in Cupertino, California. The Apple rumor mill says it will be used to showcase the company’s latest products including two new iPhones with bigger screens and the long-awaited iWatch… which I will never buy, but my husband probably will.
A rare illness is making hundreds of kids sick, not here in Arizona thank goodness, but in 10 other states. This story jumped out at me because when I picked up my little guy from school last week, the teacher said the kids were dropping like flies. Several students had called in sick and a few others had to be picked up early… and this is at a school where they do a great job at keeping the germs away. The illness is a virus that effects the respiratory system, so kids with asthma are most at risk. The symptoms start as a common cold but then get much worse and effect breathing. The best way to protect your little ones is to keep their hands washed and remind them to keep their hands to themselves.
Help a Local Family
One of the reasons I love North Phoenix Moms Blog is that it brings this community of moms together so that we can support each other. One of my friends, Stephanie, a North Phoenix mom, definitely could use our support. Last week, she gave birth to Lydia Raquel who was born with Epstein’s Anomaly and will undergo heart surgery sometime this week. This is just the first of many surgeries, so you can imagine the medical bills. If you’d like to help out this fellow mom and her family, there is a GoFundMe page set-up for them. Any amount would be appreciated.
And on that note, have a very grateful Monday.
