Phoenix Heats Up
Grab the sunscreen! You knew they were coming. It was just a matter of when. Those 90 degree temperatures hit this week in Phoenix! Today the high will be 88 and then tomorrow… wait for it… 94 degrees, making tomorrow the first 90-degree day of 2014. Wednesday is even hotter hitting close to 100.
Grand Canyon Free Days
Get out of the heat and plan a trip to the Grand Canyon. Later this month, the park is celebrating National Park Week by waiving entrance fees. Those free days are Saturday, April 19th and Sunday, April 20th. By the way, while you are at the park, be sure to have stop at the El Tovar Hotel. This beautiful hotel has an amazing restaurant inside. Don’t let the white linens fool you. Kids are definitely welcome!
NASA Guessing Game
If you have a little boy or little girl who’s interested in space, here’s something fun to do with them. NASA wants you to guess when LADEE (Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer) will crash into the moon. The spacecraft has been orbiting the moon since it blasted off on its scientific mission last year. Now the mission is coming to an end and scientists believe it will crash sometime on or before April 21st. The best guesser or guessers get a commemorative, personalized certificate from the mission. Pretty cool right?
