Hey everyone I have a fun doily stenciled tote bag tutorial for you; an easy craft for the whole family. We’re using ours for all kinds of things around the house. I might even stuff one for a throw pillow.
You just need a few supplies to create this adorable tote. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner it’s perfect for a chair back valentine mailbox.
Supplies:
- Canvas tote bag
- Heart doily
- Freezer paper
- Fabric paint
Directions:
Line the inside of your tote with freezer paper (cardboard or wax paper works too.)
Lay your doily where you want it on the front of the bag.
Dip a sponge or paint dabber into your fabric paint
Hold your doily down while dabbing your fabric paint on.
Play with different looks. The one in the example we sponged over the doily giving it an airbrushed look. If you want a cleaner look stay within the lines of your stencil doily.
So cute, right? My son’s preschool just did their card exchange yesterday. So for now we’re storing all his adorable cards in the tote bag he made. It’s big enough to store his valentines from year to year.
