At First Bite {Guest Post}

Today we have a guest post from one of our wonderful sponsors, At First Bite. I just love Jessica’s enthusiasm and creativity to fill our little loves’ bellies with wholesomeness…

Peas. Love. Yumminess. These are the three defining principals behind our newly launched fresh-made baby and toddler food business, At First Bite. Locally based here in Phoenix, At First Bite is committed  to helping parents make mealtime with little ones as stress-free as possible! Launched by local momprenuer, Jessica Spencer, this innovative company delivers farm fresh purees and finger foods right to the high-chair tray of your little love.

At First Bite was born out of this mama’s experiences with a “selective” eater.  After many meals fraught with frustration (we are talking tears at the dinner table…from mom…not baby), I made it my personal mission to ensure that each and every bite that made it into her tiny tummy was as nutritionally dense as possible. Making great food for our little ones is not necessarily hard, but it is very time-consuming. And time, is something that we at At First Bite know, is in short supply when you have a little one (or two…or more…) at home. We are here to help!

Our seasonal, rotating menu includes fruits and veggies (and some proteins and grains too) from every corner of the garden and in every color of the rainbow.  Whenever possible, we secure our ingredients from local farmers right here in Arizona to ensure that they are as fresh as possible. The only preservatives we use are a refrigerator. From the fields, to our commercially certified kitchen, to your high-chair, that’s the extent of our production line. Delivered fresh within 24 hours of preparation, freshness is our top priority. No stops in a warehouse or on a supermarket shelf here. Easy to follow, and easy to love!
We also believe that even the tiniest of taste buds deserve to be tickled! That’s where we come in! Beyond making foods that make your baby smile, we ensure that you provide her with all the nutrients she needs to keep growing and learning in these early, formative months. Our menus always include a wide variety of single ingredient “firsts”. But we also believe that just because your baby doesn’t have teeth, doesn’t mean he doesn’t crave some kick as well! Take your little one on a culinary adventure with internationally inspired flavors and tastes not typically found in the baby-food aisle at the grocery store. And go ahead, take a little taste for yourself….we think you’ll be surprised at just how yummy these purees can be!

Ready to bring some fresh-made Yumminess to your little one? Know a new mama or mama-to-be that could use a gift card for some Yumminess? We can do that too!

Orders can be placed via the company website www.atfirstbitebaby.com. “Like” our page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/AtFirstBiteBaby) for great information on pediatric nutrition, special offers, and community involvement information. Or, reach out to Jessica directly at [email protected]

We hope to hear from you soon! Until then, Peas, Love, and Yumminess to all!

Elisa
Elisa is a native Arizonan by birth and a Seattleite by heart. She is a wise, spirited woman who loves feeling the sun on her face, but also enjoys cold rainy days, complete with a cup of coffee and a good book or conversation. After graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and seeing clients for a time, she took a hiatus to love on, play with, and offer copious amounts of hugs to our little girls, Malia and Jayden. She is now back working at Socorro Counseling and Consulting in Downtown Phoenix. Unafraid to laugh at herself and able to see the beauty in others, she makes everyone feel at ease, making her a genuine friend, therapist, and wife. Give her a cute pattern and a sewing machine or some spray paint and a piece of furniture and they are surely to be transformed into some warm piece of art that brightens our living space. She also finds creativity in cooking, making household cleaners, and anything Pinterest. In short, Elisa is stylish, wise, thoughtful, creative woman who makes everyone around her a better person, including her husband (who wrote this bio).
