5 of the Best Family Friendly Restaurants to Get a Drink

I finally turned 21 last month. Something I have been looking forward to my whole entire life. Not just because I can finally accept a glass of wine when offered at a party. But I am finally fully considered an adult! I am also really excited for that glass of wine. Over the last few months, I have done a lot of research as to where I should go for my first birthday drink that has great drinks, amazing food and is kid/family friendly and I am happy to share what I have come up with! family friendly restaurants

1. O.H.S.O.– This is an amazing place. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming for people of all ages. This restaurant doubles as a distillery and brewery, which makes their drinks unique. Plus there is a happy hour from open to 6pm where you can get any glass of wine, cocktail or pitcher of beer for only $7. On top of it all, if your kids are the furry kind (dogs) they are welcome too.

2. Postino– Postino is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. With bites like the bruschetta board and paninis, this place is to die for. Postino makes you feel very classy, and with wine glasses and beer pitcher for $5 from 11am-5pm, you can’t go wrong. They also usually have fun little toys that come with the kid’s menu, and if you don’t drink the cucumber lemonade is to die for!

 3. Windsor– Windsor is like Postino’s cousin. They are very close to each other (if you go to the location on Central) and they have the same feel, with Windsor seeming a bit more relaxed. This is an amazing place for families. Their website even says “Everyone is Welcome” under their name. The food here is amazing; it’s like classic American with a new twist. I would recommend their Backyard Burger, or if you’re vegetarian, The Berkeley Veggie Burger is where it’s at. They also have a happy hour from open until 5pm: $5 for any cocktail, a glass of wine or pitcher of beer. On top of all of that, the kid’s menu is golden.

4. The Duce– This place in one of the most fun and entertaining places I have been in Phoenix. In an old warehouse from the 1920’s. The Duce has corn hole, ping pong, and a boxing ring (yes, you read that right). The food is inspired by “Mom’s 1960’s kitchen” and everything is prepared with fresh, local and organic ingredients in “Duchess,” the camper that is parked in the restaurant. This is a perfect place for some family fun and cocktails served in cute mason jars.

5. Rustlers Rooste– This western restaurant has the best atmosphere. You walk up to a live bull outside, and you follow a little walkway into a cave that leads you inside where you are greeted by a two-story restaurant with a live band, dance floor, and slide for the kids. This is an amazing place for a juicy steak and a yummy cocktail. Their happy hour is from 4-6pm with a menu full of specials!

These are my favorite restaurants that serve amazing cocktails (and are family friendly!) around the valley. What are your favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. We are big fans of Mello Mushroom especially during their happy hour. The one on Happy Valley offers half off their appetizers and great drink deals during Happy Hour. My 3 year old loves the meatballs which you can get on the kids menu, but during Happy Hour order it straight from the HH Menu to save a few bucks – sure you skip the free kids drink but I’d rather he’d have water anyways!
