My Dear Husband,
I can remember our first Valentine’s Day so perfectly. I remember that I wore a black dress and I curled my hair. I remember that I made you a heart shaped pizza, with heart shaped pepperonis. We went on a double date and ate burgers and held hands awkwardly while watching The Vow. I was 15 at the time, and I had no idea our life would be the way it is today. My love, you are the greatest joy in my life. You amaze me each and everyday. I thank you for allowing me the privilege of waking up next to you each day. I love the way you fight for us, provide for us and never stop loving us. There is no doubt in my mind that you were created for me and I for you.
Thank you for being my strong hold, my tower, my comforter, my supporter, and my best friend. This Valentine’s marks our fifth one together and even though it is completely different than all of the ones before, I know it will be my favorite. Because I love you so much more than I did that first day.
Love, Your Darling
Dearest Song Bird (My Daughter),
You are perfect, my love. I remember my first Valentine’s Day with you. I was terrified. It was the first day your dad went back to work and I was afraid to be alone with you. You have taught me the greatest lesson of all. And that is how to be your mom. Thank you for showing me who I am, silently encouraging me and helping me find my confidence in being the person I was made to be. I love you. I love being your mama and I love that I get to see your smiling face each and everyday. I would be lost without you.
I promise to always be your biggest fan and will be supportive in all that you do. You can be anything, my love, and I will be there cheering you on. I promise to challenge you and teach you to work hard. I promise to draw you out and show you the beauty in embracing who you are and being yourself. My love, I promise to remind you how beautiful you are and will teach you that we are wonderful gorgeous creations by example. But most of all, I promise I will always be here, with arms wide open. I will give you my all, and I will love you forever and always.
Love, Mama
