The Very Hungry Caterpillar is coming to Phoenix

I can remember so clearly when Nate, my 15 year old, was starting daycare. The wonderful staff at the daycare suggested that I sleep with a stuffed animal that he liked, then bring it with me to daycare each day. They said that my scent would be familiar to him and help him soothe. I can remember wandering into a book store and seeing the little caterpillar stuffed animal. I thought it would be perfect for him to hold onto. Now, it may have helped me more than it helped him, but I will always have very fond memories of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is coming to Phoenix to celebrate the book’s 50th anniversary with a special FREE event at Grabbagreen for families featuring a smoothie inspired by the book!

On Saturday, March 2nd, 2019, The Very Hungry Caterpillar will celebrate the book’s 50th anniversary at the Grabbagreen location on Tatum and Bell Rd. The children’s picture book, which was designed, illustrated, and written by Eric Carle, has been read by millions of adoring fans since its first publication in 1969 and tells the story of a caterpillar that eats his way through a colorful and very large quantity of food.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beloved story, Grabbagreen will be serving up a special smoothie inspired by the ingredients mentioned in the classic children’s book. They will also be hosting family-fun activities including caterpillar balloon making, story time by a surprise reader, healthy smoothies, and a very special crawly visitor to take pictures with.
