I don’t know about you but when the weather turns cold, it makes me want to bundle up and get out of the house to enjoy some Christmas decorations and run a few errands too! One of the places we love to go visit are The Shops at Norterra! I had a small but detailed list and knew I could get everything done there! I layered my children, grabbed my coupons and headed out the door! Since the shops are so conveniently located just off the freeway and being so close to the I-17 myself it wasn’t long before we were there and the squeals of joy began! Maybe it was the over sized ornaments peppering the sidewalks, or perhaps the hanging Christmas wreaths lining main street, what ever the reason we were all so excited for our day of errands!
Our first stop was Dick’s Sporting Goods. I needed to pick up some “manly” Christmas presents! That place has everything and anything you could possibly want or need for the man in your life! Of course they have plenty of things for women and kids but I was there for my hubby! The selection was fantastic and I was so glad they had what I needed and didn’t have to order yet another item online!
Our next stop was Bath and Body Works! I needed some stocking stuffers and we ALL needed hand sanitizer! A frequent conversation in our car goes like this, “Honey you don’t need that much sanitizer to clean your hands.” or “You already washed your hands three times, please put the sanitizer away.” and of course my favorite in response to gagging and coughing, “sweetie even though it has a picture of a cake on it and smells so yummy, you still aren’t supposed to taste it!” That being said, the girls had saved up their money to buy their OWN sanitizers and holders! We lucked out with their 5 for $5 sale, and since their car fresheners and holders were 2 for $5 we grabbed one of those too!
As the temperature rose we shed our winter coats and off we went to our next stop. I was needing some red earrings for a Christmas party and knew Charming Charlie wouldn’t disappoint! My favorite thing about this store is their color coordinated counters. I found my earrings (and missing child hiding behind another counter) and were ready for our special surprise!
Before we left on our adventure, I had promised my darling tag-along shoppers a special treat if my girls were good listeners. Since they held up their end of the bargain as much a 3 and 5 year old can, we were off for some chocolatey goodness! I had a hard time deciding between Elevate Coffee and Paradise Bakery but in the end we agreed on Elevate! I love that Elevate makes the Children’s hot chocolates a cooler temp so they don’t burn their little tongues! After finishing our drinks, we walked around outside so my now caffeine crazy kiddos could run off some energy!
We had a great morning and I look forward to returning as a whole family for some of their festive holiday events! Did you know they offer Christmas music every Friday night from 6-9 and then have a snowfall at 7 and 8pm? Such a fun treat for us desert dwellers!
They also have Santa come visit!! You can check out their list of December events here!
