It takes a little planning to make those clothing dollars stretch and get the most wear out our kids’ clothing.

Zulily has surveyed 1,600 millennial moms with children under the age of 12 and studied a year’s worth of sales data. Be sure to bookmark this article to keep handy for planning!

- May is coming up, and it is the perfect time to buy gymnastic leotards.
- June is when to plan for Halloween costumes and accessories to beat the last minute rush. I love searching for children’s resale shops for costumes. They are usually in great condition, even when used, because they were barely worn. Once Upon a Child and Savers usually have great selections.
- July is a great time to do a toy refresh! What toys do your kids have that they are no longer playing with? This is a great time to do a toy rotation. In their toy box, is there a balance of creative toys and STEM toys? This is a great time to go through your toy collection and pass on toys that they are no longer playing with. You can even take that time to teach your kids about charities around the Valley that give toys to children.
Their report includes fresh and unique data. As a new generation of moms buys for their children, the industry and trends change to fit what they want for their kids.

- 29% of millennial moms buy sporty clothes for their kids? Hopefully, that means that moms are opting for outside time over screen time! Or maybe we have all just gotten a little more comfortable being casual.
- If you asked me when most baby gear purchases are made, I would have said the spring. My five little ones were born in February, April, and May. The most popular birth month is now September, with December as the largest baby gear purchasing month. Zulily recommends purchasing in November to beat the rush.
