It’s Fall and what does that mean? Cooler weather (finally!), wearing flannel shirts, drinking hot coffee and PUMPKIN BEER! 🙂 There are so many pumpkin beers out there so I decided to put a few to the test. Find out what this mama enjoyed (and didn’t enjoy) on my pumpkin drinking adventure.
Blue Moon Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale Coors Brewing Company 5.70% ABV
By far my favorite of the beers I sampled. Very smooth and tasty. I will be drinking more of these! 🙂
Pumpkin Porter Four Peaks Brewing Company 5.00% ABV
An enjoyable light beer and IT IS LOCAL!!! Bonus points. Definitely will be getting this beer again.
Samuel Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale Boston Beer Company 5.70% ABV
This beer was easy to drink with just a hint of pumpkin.
Wasatch Black O’Lantern Pumpkin Stout Utah Brewers Cooperative 6.50% ABV
Not my fave but I can drink it. It has a strong aftertaste reminiscent of black licorice (anise).
Pumking Southern Tier Brewing Company 8.60% ABV
Very flavorful but I did not enjoy so much. I was unable to finish this beer…
Shipyard Pumpkinhead Shipyard Bewing Co. 4.70% ABV
This seems to be an overall favorite but was my least favorite that I tasted. Sweet but artificial? I did not like the aftertaste and won’t be purchasing again.
A few more beers that I wanted to try but was unable to find:
Punkin Ale Dogfish Head Brewery
Night Owl Pumpkin Ale Elysian Brewing Company
Ace Hard Pumpkin Cider California Cider Company
Red Hook Out Of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter Redhook Ale Brewery
