The school aged kids may see summer coming to an end, but we all know those summer temps are here to stay at least another few months! If you feel like summer is endless but miss outside playdates, check out some of the best Phoenix splash pads:
Luci’s at the Orchard: This is my personal favorite splashed because it is connected to one of my favorite coffee shops and what splash pad isn’t made better with a little treat for mama while the littles play?! This splash pad is small and sweet so it is not overwhelming for my youngest the way some others around town are. Bonus: if you need help bribing the littles to leave, one of our top local ice cream spots is right next door… ok, technically it’s gelato but still, if that doesn’t make this one of the best Phoenix splash pads, I don’t know what does!
Located at: 7100 N 12th St. Building 2, Phoenix, AZ 85020
Desert Ridge: If you have spent any time at Desert Ridge, you probably already knew about this one. It is prominently located near the AMC movie theaters and giant fireplace (which happens to double as providing great shade in the summer mornings!) I love the plentiful food and drink options that surround this splash pad as well as the slip resistant turf that is all around it.
Located at: 21001 N. Tatum Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85050
Phoenix Zoo: The Phoenix Zoo actually has two splash pad areas. If your kids are on the younger side, you may want to stick to the Leapin Lagoon area- specifically designed for babies and toddlers. Older kids can enjoy the Yakulla Caverns area, meant for those 5 and up and that includes a bit more climbing in the water play. The zoo is great because bathrooms are plentiful, clean, and easily accessible. Plus, if you are a member you can take advantage of early entry before the heat really kicks up and then hit the splash pad to cool off as the day goes on! This is by far the most recommended of our best Phoenix splash pads, so do be aware it gets busy.
Located at: 455 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85008
Highlands Kids Playground and Splash Pad: This splashed is located in Highlands church and is fully gated, but it is open to the public starting nice and early in the morning! It is a little more chill than some of the other options on this list which is perfect for kids who are a bit more shy or younger. There is a lot of shade and seating and of course a restroom. If you come early enough the playground is also open to the public.
Located at: 9050 E Pinnacle Peak Rd Suite 100, Scottsdale, AZ
Scottsdale Quarter: This splash pad is beautiful and while it is crowded it is a pretty good size. The splash pad area often hosts fun events (check their website for details) and, sticking with the theme of so many of our favorites, there are bathrooms and delicious places to bribe your kids… I mean eat a wonderful meal close by! (My family especially loves Zinburger and True Food.)
Located at: 15279 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
Pioneer Park Splash Pad: If you find yourself on the west side of town, Pioneer Park Splash pad is shaded, has restrooms available, and has gorgeous scenery for you to enjoy while your littles play! All my west side mamas highly recommended this one, but do note that it is seasonal and not based on how warm it is- the water is only turned on April 15 through October 15, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Located at: 8755 N 83rd Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345
