Style Tips: Taking Your Look From Day to Night

We mamas need to be able to change our style in the blink of an eye. Who has time to stress over changing your whole outfit? I certainly don’t, and when I can change my look by swapping accessories to be set for the night, I don’t have to!  I will show you an easy way to take your Saturday afternoon soccer mom look, and change it into a savvy out on-the town mama look with no hassle. I asked boss mama, Moriah, from Sweet T’s Design Shoppe, to model for me.

For her day look and style, Moriah is wearing one of her original design t-shirts that I love; a cute, simple graphic tee can go a long way. Layering light pieces is big this spring, so we paired her shirt with an army/camo vest. It gives the outfit texture and dimension. Then we added classic rolled up skinny jeans and chuck tailors. Since she is hitting the soccer field, and doing all of the other Saturday running around, a medium handbag is the perfect piece to complete the look (and, did I mention, the most practical?).

Now, the fun part! You have been so busy with soccer and Saturday chores that you haven’t had time to shower or change your whole outfit, but you have plans… what are you gonna do? No worries…I’ve got you!

  • Take the vest off and add a blazer and a statement necklace.
  • Keep the jeans, and kick the chucks. Replace those chucks with a pair of classic heels.
  • Ditch the large tote (no more kids’ stuff to cart around) and take your clutch with you for the evening.

It really is that simple!  Day to night style with only a few simple changes.

Needing a little more inspiration?  Fret not – I’m covering hair too!

Usually by the end of the day,  my hair is also a mess. I gave Moriah a cute side braid to fancy her up a bit. Braids are still huge this season, and pretty simple to do. They are also great when you have not had time to wash your hair, because the braid will hide any grease you may have going on.  Now you’re officially set for a night out, and you didn’t have to overthink a thing!

  1. I love this post! I bought my first Sweet T’s Design Shoppe tee from The Mom Made Market and its the softest, most flattering shirt I own to date. Every mama need one or seven of these for every day of the week 🙂
