I was sent this product free of charge from Influenster to review for you! All opinions are my own.
Neutrogena has a new line out called Hydro Boost for achieving beautifully hydrated skin. During the winter, and even still this time of year, my skin is extra dry. Honestly, my first thoughts when seeing and touching the product were of the hair gel I used to use to scrunch in my hair… sticky, gooey…not something I want to rub on my face. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this product.
The three key products in this moisturizer are purified hyaluronic acid (I will talk more on this next), olive extract, and glycerin. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in your skin and holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water. This acid replenishes your skin by progressively releasing water back into your skin throughout the day. The other two main ingredients help to rebuild your skin by creating a natural barrier to protect from moisture loss. Neutrogena says this water gel will give you deep hydration without any greasy feeling and that it will last all day.
How did it work for me? Great! I actually love the way it feels on my skin. It is a strange texture. Thicker than cream, but more watery than gel, not like hair gel, phewph! It does feel a little tacky on the skin at first, but after a minute or so, it absorbs and leaves your skin feeling nice and smooth. I have been using this product for 3 weeks, morning and night. For the first week, I did not use any other moisturizer along with it, besides my SPF. After applying this product before bed, my face still feels hydrated when I wake up in the morning. I did eventually add in an extra product for these dry patches that I get right above my eyebrows…anyone else get those? I feel like it’s a weird place. I did not notice any sensitivity to this gel nor any irregular breakouts. I will continue to use this product and might even try their gel-cream for extra dry skin next winter.
