Private School Tax Credits: A No Cost Investment In Arizona’s Children

tax creditWith much of the world on hold due to COVI19, Arizona’s children are still actively learning in unique, on-line environments, such as the case with Arizona’s largest private school, Northwest Christian School, in Northwest Phoenix. This number one ranked, AdvanceEd and ACSI Exemplary Accredited school quickly mobilized to not only meet the sudden demand to deliver an on-line education of excellence to its 1460 preschool through 12th grade students, but to exceed expectations. Teachers, administrators and parents have united at NCS to ensure that the education of our precious children carries on. Many of you have made this possible at private schools throughout the state through your generous donations to the Arizona Private School Tax Credit program and Arizona’s children thank you.

tax creditWhile the posted Federal and State tax deadlines have moved to July, the April 15th deadline to donate to Arizona’s tax credit programs remains unchanged. Arizona’s taxpayers have only a few short weeks to make a difference in a child’s life whether it be through the private school, public school, foster care, working poor or other approved Arizona charitable tax credit program. The Arizona Private School Tax Credit program saves Arizona taxpayers 34.6 million and potentially upwards of 285 million dollars each year according to a research study by legal and legislative analyst, Deborah Sheasby. The best part? It costs the donor nothing out of pocket long-term and means the world to a child where a private education would have otherwise been out of reach.

tax creditDespite our new “stay in place” reality, we can all become part of the solution, right from our homes, by supporting educational opportunity through parent choice initiatives like the Arizona Private School Tax Credit program. This tax credit offers a no-cost way for Arizona workers to intentionally redirect part of their hard-earned money, their State tax liability up to specified limits, to make a difference in the life of a child. In return, donors receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their 2019 Arizona state tax return: up to $2,269 for a married couple filing jointly or $1,135 for a single filer, but not to exceed their state tax liability. It is truly a win-win scenario for both donors and Arizona’s children. To “take the credit” for Arizona students, go to: www.azto.org and make your dollar-for-dollar tax credit donation today.
