Nothing says summer like a popsicle, am I right? And popsicles are the perfect summer party food for kids and adults because they are inexpensive and they taste delicious!
The inspiration for this party actually came from this cute pinwheel garland from Occasionally Crafty. You can check out her DIY tutorial here to make your own. I just thought the pinwheels were adorable.
The set up for this party was fairly simple. I created a ruffled backdrop by using a white sheet from The Goodwill (don’t worry, I washed it). Just tear the sheet into strips and glue ruffles with a hot glue gun onto a foam board from the Dollar Store. The pinwheel banner looked so sweet over it.
To keep with the theme, I served ice cold popsicles, pizza pops, popsicle cupcakes, fruit-sicles, and lemonade.
Ya’ll know I love to party on a budget, and I tried to use items I already had at home like the tablecloth, the pink and yellow dot banner, and the cupcake toppers. For the backdrop I spent about $4, and the nice thing about the pinwheel banner is you can use scrapbook paper you already have on hand at home. Heck, you could even raid your kids art closet and use construction paper.
I spent about $20 for all the food items, so all in all, I’d say I made out pretty good on this party.
Pair this party with a pool, slip-n-slide, or water balloons and you’re sure to be the coolest mommy on the block!
