Phoenix Rescue Mission // Community Easter Event

0

Hippity hop, hippity hop, Easter is on its way… EARLY!  Yes, Easter comes early in 2016, and even earlier to Phoenix Rescue Mission, which will be holding their Community Easter Event on March 19, 2016, from 8am to 1pm.

The Community Easter Event—one of their biggest outreach events of the year—benefits low-income children and their families, and will include a giant egg hunt, as well as activities like:

Bounce Houses!      Cookie/Cake Walk!      Face Painting!     Crafts!
Balloon Animals!      Snow Cones!      Popcorn!      Cotton Candy!     Games!

Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles, and families are welcome to volunteer together. If you are interested in helping with this year’s event, you must contact Volunteer Services at (602)-346-3363 or [email protected]. Open spaces fill up quickly, so please inquire about signing up sooner rather than later! Everyone 18 and older will need to fill out a Volunteer Application (unless you already have one on file).  Children 17 years and under will not need to fill out a full volunteer application. Instead, click here to fill out a Youth Authorization and Liability Form, once for each minor.

Their biggest need, in addition to volunteers, is to acquire pre-filled Easter baskets. This is a great activity to host at your child’s school, youth group, scouting group, or to make at home.  You can also purchase pre-filled baskets at any local store.  You may want to visit Pinspiration, a local craft establishment on High Street in City North near Desert Ridge Marketplace, which is featuring an Easter basket craft this month where you can make a basket and take it with you … or donate it!  Pinspiration will also serve as the central drop-off location for pre-filled Easter baskets of all kinds.  Please drop off your donations at Pinspiration no later than March 17.  They will be delivered to the Phoenix Rescue Mission on your behalf!

If you can’t make it to the Community Easter Event this year to volunteer, and won’t have an opportunity to purchase or make pre-filled Easter Basket, you can still help! Sponsors are needed for the event, and your monetary donations will go a long way toward making this a fantastic celebration for the children and families they serve.  Please contact Gail Engstrom, Outreach Events Coordinator for Phoenix Rescue Mission, at [email protected] or (602)346-3372.

I’ll be out there with my kiddos on March 19…won’t you join me?
