This is very exciting news! Odd Squad Live is coming to Phoenix!!!

Odd Squad Live

My twin daughters are kindergarteners and able to play by themselves, but when they were younger I was happy to get 10 minutes to get something done, hence I never had a TV rule.  There have been plenty of favorite shows, but when they turned four Odd Squad was their jam and still is the most popular show in our house.

Odd Squad is a kid’s detective show, where the detectives solve odd problems.  Sounds strange, I know.  It started with the main characters, Olive and Otto in season one.  Now in season two it’s Olympia and Ottis.  Headquarters has an entire agency of detectives, but generally the main characters solve the odd problems that come along.

The agents investigate weird and unusual phenomena around them and use math to make things right. From recapturing a gallon-sized blob that has separated into smaller pieces, to dealing with a slew of unicorns, dinosaurs and wizards that have escaped from books, there is no occurrence that is too strange for the Odd Squad as they face off against various villains that wreak havoc around town.

From time to time, Olive and Otto are overwhelmed with information and need to work out a problem, at which point they teleport to the futuristic “Mathroom,” where they have all the tools they need to work toward a solution.

The most fun part is the Odd Squad agents navigate a complicated underground system of giant tubes that allow them to travel to and from headquarters in just seconds. Then the funny part is the Odd Squad’s odd gadgets – from the “Pudding-Inator” to “The Make-Anything-Within-Reason-Machine.”

Here’s the best part, it is all math related!  They count; they add; they look at the yearly calendar, all while keeping the kiddos’ attention with the humor of the odd situations.  In the last episode I watched, Oxana, the quirky cook at headquarters, divided a pizza first in half, then quarters, then eighths… fractions = awesome!

Today, I asked my daughters about their favorite episode and they started telling me all about the “Jinx” episode.  Apparently the agents have a case of the jinx and they have to find the villain that has stolen the jinx block.  During the explanation, they kept laughing while telling me all the details of the episode.

This show is great for kids 3 years and older.  Don’t be surprised when your kiddos become experts at counting. 🙂

Do your kids love Odd Squad as much as mine???
