New Year, Same Me

2

“New year, new me” is a phrase we often hear throughout the month of January. The custom of making New Year’s resolutions has been around for thousands of years, but let’s be honest…We don’t need to wait for January 1 of every year to set new goals. For this reason, I will relax this year and hold off on jumping on the “New year, new me” bandwagon.
When I was younger my New Year’s resolutions were always the same! Exercise more and eat healthy! So this year it is new year, same me! I learned to set goals anytime of the year and celebrate the new year with all the accomplishments of the past year. I’d much rather take it a step at a time instead of overwhelming myself with things I need to achieve.
Being a mom means having a never-ending list of to-do’s and possibly never really feeling satisfied so, I’m not looking too far ahead this year. Instead, the same me is doing things a little different. Life seems to go so fast. I want to always remember to live in the moment, not think too far ahead, appreciate what I have, spend time with the people that matter and 100% be myself at all times. The same me is okay. Cheers to all the moms who just want to live the moment with no “set goals” for the year! Happy 2022!
