If you are like me, your phone is glued to you. We may not like all that technology has become, but we all admit we can’t live without it. I have been trying to use my phone not just for Facebook and endless Pinterest (some days I’m not perfect!), but to help my family save money as well.
Available for the I-Phone and other smartphones are some neat FREE apps you can download that gives you coupons or money back in your pocket! It does take some planning, but that’s the key to any money saving- PLAN YOUR SHOPPING!
Download your favorite grocery store app. The top stores I go to regularly are: Target, Sprouts, and Safeway. Both Target and Safeway have coupons within the app. (The Sprouts app does not). You can upload the coupons to your memebership card or the coupon can scanned at the register. Fry’s and Albertson’s also offer coupons.
Download Shopkick. This app was recommended to me by my husband ( a tech savvy guy). This app is great if you are walking the mall. You get points for entering stores and can earn giftcards. My family has found sometimes if you just walk by the store, you’ll get the points! If you have time while you are shopping, Shopkick will take you on scavenger hunt in the store and you can earn points for items you find and scan with your phone. My favorite part of this app are the coupons. I personally don’t have the patience to hunt down items (my husband loves this!), but I enjoy going to my favorite retail and use a coupon! These past couple months I have used coupons at Old Navy and Macy’s.
Download Ibotta. This app was featured on Good Morning America. I have been using this app since January You pick items from the list of items provided, buy them, scan your receipt and the product, and earn money. The product line isn’t big, but if you occassionally need coffee creamer or toothpaste, you can earn money back! There are always adding new product as well. Here’s the video link if you want to watch more: Ibotta App on Good Morning America.
So far I have made $2.50. Half of my Starbucks coffee drink! (And I admit, I’m not very consistant about using this one!)
Hope you can find these apps as helpful as I do! Are there any apps you use to help you save money??
Great information Jessica! I’ve never heard of the last two you mentioned. I’ll have to try them out!
Thanks Emily! Let me know if you like them!
