Mission of Mercy Spring Fun Run and Health Fair

0

With our beautiful weather it’s time to grab the kids and head outside! Join Mission of Mercy (MOM) a Phoenix-based nonprofit dedicated to providing free primary medical care and medications to those in need (no prequalification required), for Spring Into Wellness Walk & Health Fair at North Phoenix Baptist Church from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022. The goal is to get folks outside and moving, support their wellness journeys, and raise money for an important cause.

Move and Groove

Featuring a one-mile family fun run/walk, exercise demonstrations and a health fair with various vendors. The Pulse 88.7 FM will be on-site playing upbeat music, and MOM will have its newest mobile medical RV on site for tours. Additionally, the Uptown Farmer’s Market is happening in another area of the church parking lot, so you can grab fresh fruits, veggies, and other goods after the event.

Sponsored by Sprouts, you can pre-register online for Spring Into Wellness (all proceeds will be used to fund clinic operations for MOM) and create a team with family, friends and co-workers! Cost is $25 for those 13 and older. Children ages 12 and younger are free. Register at momwellness.org. All Spring Into Wellness registrants will be entered into a raffle drawing, featuring Beats Headphones and other prizes from our health fair vendors, including a $100 Gift Card to Sprouts.

Health Matters

Now, more than ever, the importance of being healthy – and staying healthy – is a concept we can all appreciate. Whether you want to achieve personal fitness goals this spring or you’re simply interested in getting outside for a morning of healthy activities in the sun, MOM hopes to empower all participants on their wellness journeys.

Through six clinics (Phoenix, Mesa, Avondale, Maryvale and Chandler) operating five days per week across the Valley and a network of more than 150 volunteer doctors, nurses and medical interpreters, MOM provides 2,200+ patients with medical care and vital prescription medications each year. Unlike other free or low-cost healthcare clinics, Mission of Mercy Arizona has no cumbersome prequalification process, which can be a barrier to care for patients and sometimes deters people from seeking medical help. In 2021 alone, Mission of Mercy Arizona provided approximately 14,000 free patient visits and dispensed more than 45,000 prescription medications.
