Hello WVMB readers, we are happy to introduce a few new “voices” that you’ll be hearing from this year. We have 4 new writers who will joining our team. Get excited for some fresh and fun new posts and topics!

Emily

The last few years have brought big changes for Emily.  After spending years in high-stress, deadline-driven TV jobs in East Coast metros, family circumstances brought her and her husband Joel to the Arizona desert. Now this former news junkie is a stay-at-home mom to Miles, a fast-talking toddler with energy to spare. She spends her days teaching him about faith, letters, numbers and manners. Whenever he’s asleep she boots up the laptop to grow BloomBox Marketing, a social media and marketing business she launched with her sister earlier this year. Whatever spare time she has left is spent on a rare date night with Joel, coffee and dinner with friends, or in her craft room creating simple, beautiful jewelry for her online boutique, Hazel & May, and giving too many treats to her pups, Pepper and Gizmo.

Jessie

Jessie is the proud mama of two little loves, Reese (3 1/2) and Brooks (18 months). She is fortunate enough to share her life’s adventures with her husband (and high school sweetheart) Todd to whom she has been married for 9 years. Although she and her husband have lived all over the West Coast, Arizona is home and she can’t imagine leaving the warm Arizona sunshine anytime soon! A proud University of Arizona Alumni, Jessie spent her pre-kiddo years as a corporate recruiter and trainer. When she is not taking her kiddos to the park or exploring the many cool things the Valley has for families, Jessie is now running her natural baby food business, At First Bite (www.atfirstbitebaby.com) , and blogging about the many adventures of parenthood on her blog, At First Bite – Peas. Love. Yumminess. (www.peasloveyumminess.blogspot.com).

Robin

Robin is a stay at home mom to two wonderful kids, Rylan and Presley, and has another one on the way! She has been married to her wonderful husband Ron for almost 10 years. She was born and raised in the mountains of California, and while she misses it often, she now considers Arizona her home. Before having kids, Robin was an elementary school teacher and kids have always been her passion. She loved teaching very much, but feels incredibly blessed to be able to stay home with her own children. To fill her teaching void, Robin is constantly looking for and planning new activities to do at home with her children. Pinterest is her best friend when it comes to finding activities and new recipes to try. In her free time, Robin likes to read, do puzzles, travel, watch movies, and just spend time with her family and friends.

Stacey is a local photographer, dreamer and a kid at heart. As an Arizona native, she has fallen in love with, Phoenix, the city she was born in and all it has to offer. She is an advocate for local small businesses especially pertaining to women and moms. Take her downtown, out to a movie (especially a dorky sci fi one), to Comicon or equally “nerdy” event, or treat her to wine and sushi and Stacey will be your best friend.  She is a lover of food and a wannabe gourmet chef when not taking pictures and capturing the beauty of her clients. The biggest steals of her heart are the two main men in her life, her 11 year old son and long-time boyfriend of eight years. Stacey enjoys the downtown art scene, anything Disney, the calmness of the rain and ocean as well as hiking. Give this mama a camera and let her sass and style shine! You can check out Stacey’s work on her blog.  She can also be found on Facebook and Pinterest.

Elisa
Elisa is a native Arizonan by birth and a Seattleite by heart. She is a wise, spirited woman who loves feeling the sun on her face, but also enjoys cold rainy days, complete with a cup of coffee and a good book or conversation. After graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and seeing clients for a time, she took a hiatus to love on, play with, and offer copious amounts of hugs to our little girls, Malia and Jayden. She is now back working at Socorro Counseling and Consulting in Downtown Phoenix. Unafraid to laugh at herself and able to see the beauty in others, she makes everyone feel at ease, making her a genuine friend, therapist, and wife. Give her a cute pattern and a sewing machine or some spray paint and a piece of furniture and they are surely to be transformed into some warm piece of art that brightens our living space. She also finds creativity in cooking, making household cleaners, and anything Pinterest. In short, Elisa is stylish, wise, thoughtful, creative woman who makes everyone around her a better person, including her husband (who wrote this bio).
