Any mama can agree that grocery shopping CAN be a wee bit tough with tots in stow! I have been shopping at my favorite Fry’s store for YEARS. It is big, easy to maneuver and comes with a great Starbucks sitting area! Every week the girls and I walk in, go straight to the bakery counter for the “free cookie” and proceed to shop without little hands grabbing boxes and knocking down cans! I manage to collect my groceries as I overuse a few phrases like “Please stay right by the cart” and “sit on your bottom” or “If you can’t see me then you are too far” and then sometimes the occasional “I am sorry you made a poor choice” followed by the instant regret of giving them the cookie at the beginning ha! After our recent trip my girls caught site of the magical play land that has so secretly been hiding out at the far side of the store! Disney movies, dollhouses, and books oh my! Being somewhat intrigued myself at the thought of a quiet quick stress-less shopping trip I went over and talked to the sweet Grandma working there! She was so kind and assured me of all the background checks, and security precautions they take! She also showed me all the monitors placed around the store so I could watch them play while I did my shopping. The FREE kids care is offered for an hour and a half… she was practically dangling a Starbucks in front of my face and begging me to shop alone! I took the info and registered the girls so next time we came I could check them right in! Their first visit was great! They watched a G movie, played with new toys, colored some pages and got a stamp on their hands when they left! SUCCESS!
Here are a few things to know before you drop them off!
– They are open 9am-8pm 7 days a week at select stores
– Available for ages 2-8
– They can stay for 90 minutes.
– Kids must be potty trained. (If you child has to go to the bathroom you will be paged to take them)
– Kids and Mom or Dad must wear a wristband
– Kids must sanitize their hands before and after each visit.
– Adults are not allowed in the kids corner room
– Parents are allowed to leave the store ONLY to bring groceries to car before picking up Kids.
Most the time a college aged student is working and every time I have been, they have been wonderful with my kids! My girls BEG me to shop longer! They definitely enjoy themselves and so do I!
There are two locations that I know of, and I am sure there are more! The closest ones to me are
20220 West 59th Avenue (59th Avenue and Beardsley) ** This is the one we shop at
8375 W. Deer Valley Road (83rd Avenue & Deer Valley Road)
4848 East Bell Road (Tatum and Bell)

Have any of you used the Kid’s Corner at Fry’s?!
What?!?! This is amazing news! Grocery shopping has turned into a nightmare with my little 1.5 year old in tow with my 3 yr old. I wish I didn’t have to wait until they were both potty trained… Thanks for sharing, one of those is really close to where we are living!
