Hello my name is Rachel and I’m a Frozen Mom! I’m one of the ones who was grabbing up all the Disney Frozen merch I could back during the summer months when there was a MAJOR shortage…we’re talking Disney was handing out raffle tickets to eager shoppers for a CHANCE to purchase the coveted Elsa costume! It was a small miracle that I was able to pull together this themed party during that time. My saving grace was that I had a couple months to plan it/hunt down products and I designed and DIY’d a lot of party décor and details. I didn’t want just any look for this event, I wanted Anthro meets Disney if you can imagine that! I think I was successful in my event styling. I wanted to share with you my top 5 recommendations to make your Frozen party fab while staying frugal. I will also share where I splurged on this party (please note that some products and services provided were sponsored for this post but my opinions are my own and very honest!)
1 – DIY Decor
A lot of the décor and activities for this party where DIY because let’s face it…you can’t get more inexpensive than making stuff on your own when party planning. I was able to make a LOVELY paper fan folded circle fixture that had all my guests talking! They suggested I leave it up from August to December for Christmas décor because it was just so awesome! This is that “Anthro” look that I was going for and feel I completely nailed it. Easy fan fold circle DIY step by step coming soon! So check back! But I can tell you that you will need Kraft Paper Rolls, Cardstock, Paper Doilies, Hot Glue and Hangers for this look. Very minimal supplies for a MAJOR statement wall. Other easy additions to décor included tinsel, cotton ball garland and tissue paper puffs.
2 – Out With The New And In With The Old
We used items we had around the house including my Christmas wrapping paper. I found some Kraft Paper and White Shimmer rolls you can see in the wall fixture photo above. I also used a tassel from The Banner Shoppe that we already had at home. My biggest tip is to see what you already have at home and work with that as a basis to cut costs.
3 – Printables
Free printables are a MUST when trying to decorate the house on a dime! After searching and searching and searching some more I found these ones by Risa Rodil and some vintage style travel posters here too! New designs are coming out constantly so I recommend starting on Pinterest and Search Free Frozen Printables. BE SURE to purchase a reim of shimmer paper from Michaels. This really made my printables pop!
4 – Dollar Bin Finds
At the time I was planning my party Target had just released some puzzles and activity books that were Frozen themed in their Dollar Bin. I was so happy to score them since products were so hard to find. Now I constantly see Frozen items in the Dollar Bins. I also separated pages in mini sticker books back in the book section and each child got one sticker page in their favor bags.
5 – Bargain Buys
I went the Group Dealz route on birthday outfit attire and got this perfect little shirt for around $8. Such a fabulous typography style tee and still themed for the win! I paired the tee with a sweet tutu by Truly Unique Baby Gifts and Elsa jewelry by The Glitter Revival for an adorable look. I also pre-purchased all the figurines for my baker (Tatted Cakes.) How cute is the personal Elsa cake?!
PARTY SPLURGES
Now that I have covered some ways to cut costs I will share that I do think a couple of splurges on the party, like princesses and cake, are a MUST!
Fairytale Events was the company we worked with for our Elsa and Anna party entertainment. Can I tell you that this by far was the highlight of the day! The kids were thrilled when the princesses walked through the door. It was beyond cute and I felt so much joy in making this experience happen for them! We had storytime, dancing and pictures with the princesses. For packaging and prices click HERE. You WON’T be disappointed!
Tatt’d Cakes provided a gorgeous personal and party cake! The quality of these baked masterpieces is undeniable!
If you know us you KNOW we love to support local! Talented The Glitter Revival provided the Amazing Elsa Jewelry that was my daughters FAVORITE gift! Her hair bow by Pretty in Posh Kids was such a sweet touch to the birthday girls ensemble.
Stay tuned for more DIYs and Printables that go with this full Frozen party review!
