Get out and have some fun!

Alright, so fall is technically here, although you could have fooled me, Phoenix. I’m eagerly waiting some crisp air and changing of the leaves so I can justify all my baking, drink warm, yummy drinks, and wear my boots. In the meantime, there are plenty of fall-like things to do around here. If you need some family friendly things to do these next two weekends, here’s a little round up of what’s happening around town:

1. First off, go register for our 1st Mom’s Night Out happening this Monday the 8th from 7-9pm. Leave the kids at home and come out for a relaxing evening with good food, good company, and fun prizes.

2. Keep it Safe – A Family Affair. A free family event at St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic sponsored by the city of Peoria and St. Joseph’s. This Saturday the 6th, 8am-12pm. Fire truck tour; pumpkin patch; face painting; and lots more!

3.Local store, Daniela Jay Boutique is having their Holiday Gift Show this Saturday, Oct. 6th from 3-8pm. You’ll get to view new fall fashions from many different designers. Check it out and maybe get some early holiday shopping done.

4. Aqua Tots North Phoenix is having their third annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13th from 4-7pm. Visit their FB page for more info. Lots of fun, FREE (well almost; just 2 cans of food) activities for the family! One of our sponsors, At First Bite, will be there hosting a table, so stop by at meet them too!

5. Go to a football game. Nothing says fall like football (well, actually I can think of a few things that do). The nights are getting cooler, so take the family to your neighborhood’s High School football game.

6. Head north just one short hour to Mortimer Family Farm outside of Prescott Valley. Their corn maze opens this Friday, Oct. 5th and their pumpkin festival begins on Saturday, Oct. 13th.

Elisa is a native Arizonan by birth and a Seattleite by heart. She is a wise, spirited woman who loves feeling the sun on her face, but also enjoys cold rainy days, complete with a cup of coffee and a good book or conversation. After graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and seeing clients for a time, she took a hiatus to love on, play with, and offer copious amounts of hugs to our little girls, Malia and Jayden. She is now back working at Socorro Counseling and Consulting in Downtown Phoenix. Unafraid to laugh at herself and able to see the beauty in others, she makes everyone feel at ease, making her a genuine friend, therapist, and wife. Give her a cute pattern and a sewing machine or some spray paint and a piece of furniture and they are surely to be transformed into some warm piece of art that brightens our living space. She also finds creativity in cooking, making household cleaners, and anything Pinterest. In short, Elisa is stylish, wise, thoughtful, creative woman who makes everyone around her a better person, including her husband (who wrote this bio).
