There are endless ways to celebrate the holidays with fall crafts… the ability to make construction paper and other everyday items seem like the coolest things ever makes crafting this time of year really fun! We’re eager to share several fall crafts to enjoy with your littles that are easy on the budget and are very simple to shop for. These fall crafts can be done with the following items:
- coffee filters
- construction or scrapbook paper
- (watercolor) paint + brushes
- scissors
- glue sticks
- markers
- wine corks
Coffee Filter Turkey
This first one is fun because it’s great for all ages: older kids can paint by themselves, and you can help if your kiddos are younger. After the water color on the coffee filter dries, just glue the pieces you cut out of construction paper to make the turkey! This craft from Buggy and Buddy gives you a printout for circles for the body of the turkey but you can also trace a circular item at home too!
Family Hand Print Turkey
This second craft includes hand prints from the whole family! This is a great simple way to be mindful of and thankful for our families! Mainly Homemade provides a printout for the turkey head, neck, and waddle.
Fall Leaf Painting
For this craft from The Picky Apple you can use brown paint or a marker to make your tree trunk. This will be the template for the ‘leaves’ that will be painted on. Let your kiddo get to work on using the corks as stamps for the leaves. The champagne corks were great for little hands because they have somewhat of a built in ‘handle.’ If you’re working with an older kiddo, adding in detail to the background or surrounding areas might be fun but this was an amazingly simple and fun toddler activity to do at home. It’s ready to hang on the fridge for the season or you could even frame it and work it into a fall-themed centerpiece at your table.
