Raise a glass to the rye! On Tuesday, Feb. 6 rye whiskey enthusiasts are invited to a special “Last Rye Standing” dinner at Phoenix City Grille featuring Jack Daniel’s rye whiskey varietals.
Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher will host the event, guiding guests through the distinct ryes that will be featured in each dish of the four-course dinner.
The evening begins with the “Tail of Two Jacks” welcome cocktail featuring Jack Daniel’s Bonded, Jack Daniel’s Bonded Mash, fresh lime, allspice dram, house simple syrup and Jamaican #2 bitters.
Following, the prix fixe dinner begins, featuring:
First Course—McClendon Select Baby Gem Salad with pickled Jack Daniel’s rye berries, candied Arizona pecans, sun-kissed apricots, Queen Creek Olive Mill bourbon barrel-aged balsamic, Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye and bourbon barrel aged maple vinaigrette and mustard “caviar” featuring Jack Daniel’s Jack Bonded Rye
Second Course—Shrimp and Grits with Jack Daniel’s corn grits, wild Gulf shrimp, Jack Daniel’s Rye and Red Chile glaze, chayote succotash, chive oil and crispy shallots featuring Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye
Third Course—Barrel Char and Coffee 50-Day Dry-Aged Strip Loin, Jack Daniel’s charcoal smoked and served with caramelized root vegetable hash, oven-roasted wild mushrooms, toasted peppercorn demi-glace and crispy prosciutto featuring PCG Private Select Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Rye
Fourth Course—Mexican Chocolate Torte with roasted banana gelato, Arizona pistachio crumble, peanut butter Jack Daniel’s salted caramel and micro mint featuring Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled Heritage Rye
Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the cost is $100 plus tax and 20% gratuity. During the event, guests will have the opportunity to purchase a bottle signed by Fletcher.
