Louis: A Silent Movie with Live Accompaniment by Wynton Marsalis and Cecile Licad is a captivating blend of vintage cinema and contemporary musical brilliance. This unique event features director Dan Pritzker’s 2010 film Louis, based loosely on the childhood of Louis Armstrong, which is brought to life by a live score composed and performed by the renowned jazz musician Wynton Marsalis and a 13-piece jazz ensemble.
Directed by Dan Pritzker and shot beautifully by Academy Award-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, Louis is an homage to Louis Armstrong and celebrates the deep musical heritage of New Orleans.
