As my school year is winding down, I’m looking at a summer spent with my family. I can’t wait until I can stay in workout clothes all day, take my kids to the park on a week day, and (heavens! the luxury!) go to the grocery store before 7:30 pm. These all make my summers something to look forward to, but one of my very favorite things to do is to curl up with some lightweight summer reading.
One of my favorite things to read is young adult literature- it’s easy reading, but often still deals with thought-provoking themes. And I can call it “research” for my day job as an English teacher. ๐ Several years ago, a student recommended The Hunger Games to me- it instantly became a favorite of mine and of my students. I’m guessing many of you have read the series as well. One of my teacher friends found a fantastic blog post by two teachers that have put together two exhaustive lists of recommended reading for people who enjoyed The Hunger Games.
So, without further ado, here are two links to Google Docs with enough reading for a few summers. Happy reading, moms, and may the napping odds be ever in your favor!
