The philosophy at Temple Kol Ami’s Early Childhood Center (ECC) is to foster each child’s intellectual, physical, emotional and language development in an environment that’s safe, nurturing and challenging while being sensitive to the needs and preferences of families. Infants through pre-Kindergarten learn to grow and develop a positive self-image and strong sense of Jewish identity using a developmentally age appropriate curriculum that integrates Judaic and secular materials.
The ECC is a play-based school where children learn by engaging in a variety of hands-on, multi-sensory experiences that interest and challenge them. Children begin to develop communication and language skills while learning to be sensitive to the needs and feelings of themselves and others.

The core curriculum includes Art, Body Movement, Hebrew, Music, Literacy Links, Science and Spanish. The campus includes a dedicated science classroom where students get up-close-and-personal with insects, two beautiful playgrounds, and a one-of-a-kind splashpad. Convenient before and aftercare programs are also available with elective enrichment classes like Drama, Language Lovers, Science Club, Tennis and more.

Classes are taught by highly-qualified educators, and student-to-teacher ratios are small. There are typically 2 teachers to 12 students in each classroom. In infant rooms, the ratio is even smaller: 9 students to 2 teachers.

The ECC also offers a weekly Mommy & Me program for moms and children ages Infant to 24 months. This teacher-led class is a great first step to help children socialize and prepare for preschool.

“I want all of our students to develop healthy self-esteem, critical independent thinking skills and, most of all, a lifelong love of learning—because when they have that, they go on to do extraordinary things,” says Debbie Glassman, ECC Director.

The mission of Ben’s Bells is to inspire, educate, and motivate people to realize the impact of intentional kindness, and to empower individuals to act according to that awareness, thereby strengthening ourselves, our relationships and our communities. Ben’s Bells Project was founded in 2003 after the sudden death of Jeannette Maré’s two-year-old son, Ben. The simple, everyday acts of kindness following his death helped Maré survive and begin to heal. She was inspired to establish Ben’s Bells Project as a way to recognize and continue the kindness shown to her. On the first anniversary of Ben’s death, four hundred bells were hung in public places for strangers to find. Today volunteers are invited to come to our studios to help create Ben’s Bells which are then hung throughout the community. To date, more than 58,000 bells have been hung in Tucson and beyond. In addition to bell distributions, Ben’s Bells Project provides kindness education programming for more than 124 schools, organizations, and businesses. For more information about Ben’s Bells: bensbells.org.

The Ben’s Bells Phoenix studio opened in 2015 and is located in downtown Phoenix in the heart of the Roosevelt Row Arts District. The studio is open weekly for people to participate in the project of making Ben’s Bells, and bells are distributed Valley-wide. Phoenix now has over 10 Kind Campus schools and provides programming and events throughout the community.

We are a LIVE virtual program working to meet the needs of families with children ages 0-5 years. You can explore our classes with our VESS Curriculum – approved by the Florida School Readiness Program and recognized worldwide for its evidence-based approach to the development of the whole child.  Our online program provides children 0-5 years old with the richest and most wholesome early learning experience at home. Our professional educators have developed a complete experience-based program that targets all academic areas to get children feeling ready and excited about kindergarten, while having in mind that life goes way beyond academics and should also nurture life-long love for learning, independence and an array of Thinking Skills. Literacy, math and science, are all targeted. We are confident that children learn best through fun, hands-on, minds-on exploration, novelty, collaboration, bonding and connection to real life. These concepts are core to any of our classes. Concept Maps, Graphs, Visible Thinking and other brain-based teaching strategies are utilized to help children truly learn and develop their young minds. Our virtual preschool program fits any family’s schedule, needs and interests.  The goal of our program is to promote literacy, mathematical and scientific skills in an engaging hands-on, minds-on format that excites children about learning, getting them ready to thrive in kindergarten and beyond. Children 3-5 years explore academic concepts hands-on and minds-on through cooking, engineering, performing science experiments and exploring books together, allowing them to experience how these concepts work in real life. Our teachers provide a wholesome learning experience that prepares children academically while also developing critical Thinking Skills: a problem solving mindset, creativity and innovation, analytical skills, a love for learning, social skills, and independence. Our complete program provides approximately 2 daily hours of live class time in small groups of 11 children divided by age. All classes are offered in 3 different schedules daily.  Younger children are offered shorter class times to fit their levels of readiness and interest, all the while including all of these concepts.  We currently offer a 2 week free trial.
