Once kids come into the picture it can be tough to prioritize dating your spouse. We all know we should, but sometimes life just gets busy and we forget the obvious. I’m definitely at fault in this category, and find myself placing too much responsibility on my husband, expecting him to handle us “dating” again. Well, I’m here to give you a few suggestions to make sure dating your spouse doesn’t become a distant memory, and in the process, you’re giving your hubby a gift that will last all year.
One way to do this is to grab 12 envelopes and write a different month on each one. After that, your only job is to fill them with gift cards or pre-paid dates. Then the only task at hand each month is picking what day to go on your date! You could even put in a couple free date ideas!!
Shannon from Find Joy In The Journey posted about this a few years ago and I often see her Pins when looking up gift ideas for the husband.
Camille from Friday We’re In Love has a couple of different ways to present this gift by using a letter box and also a three ring binder. She will be presenting at the Pinners Conference here in Phoenix on October 6th with A Year of Dates if you are looking for more fun ideas!
A few date night suggestions:
- Movie Passes
- New Restaurants
- Mini Golfing
- Bowling
- Cooking Classes
- Winery or Brewery Tour
- Museum
- Horseback Riding
- Kayaking or Paddle Boarding
- Staycation
- Theatre
- Concerts
Doing this fun and easy “project” leaves you with no excuses to not enjoy a date night… now your only task is to find someone to watch the kids!
*Make sure to incorporate ideas that your spouse likes, ideas that you like, and maybe a few new things you both have never done. This is your chance to have a little adventure!
How often do you and your spouse date? Any fun ideas to add to the list?
