Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Attend the

Children’s Museum’s Big Birthday Bash

The Children’s Museum of Phoenix opened June 14, 2008 in the glorious, historic Monroe School Building in downtown Phoenix. Each year, the museum celebrates this occasion with their Big Birthday Bash!  This year, on Tuesday June 14th, the museum will be celebrating their 8th birthday in grand style. Here are the top five reasons why you won’t want to miss this celebration!

Balloons-for-all1. It’s hot outside, but it’s always a cool 72 degrees in Children’s Museum of Phoenix!

Bring the little ones inside for a day of playful learning in the museum’s three floors of hands-on play experiences. If you haven’t been in a while, you’ll notice some new features like a revamped book loft complete with Elvis the elephant, a re-imagined building big (aka fort room) and a brand new painting structure in the art studio –  a robot named Flash!

2. Magic

Everyone loves magic!  John Fitzsimmons of FitzMagic will once again be on site to enthrall visitors young and not-so-young with his amazing array of magic tricks.

3. Face Painting

One of the most popular activities during the Museum’s Birthday Bash is face painting!  Children can get their face painted in a colorful array of designs at three face painting stations. Lines get long for this activity, so get your face painted early!

Facepainting4. Prizes

Each year the museum uses this day to give away a multitude of prizes in hourly drawings. Prizes in the past have included a gift basket from the gift shop, a museum membership, free museum passes for a future visit, and museum gift cards.  Make sure you enter to win!

5. Music, Dancing, Sweets Treats and Balloons!

Get your dancing shoes on, because the museum will be playing some family-friendly favorites for everyone to dance to! Plus, what’s a birthday party without some sweet treats and balloons?  Children will be able to enjoy a sweet treat in the form of a delicious cookie during their visit (while supplies last). And, to mark the end of a very happy birthday celebration indeed, youngsters will receive a colorful balloon to take home.

Woosh-JoyAll of these activities are FREE with museum admission of $11/person, and children under the age of one are free.  If you are a member, it’s even better, since members get in free.  So make sure you visit the Children’s Museum of Phoenix on June 14th, 9am to 4pm, and wish them a very happy birthday at their annual Big Birthday Bash!
